COVINGTON — Ray Leon Lynch, 78, 2502 West U. S. 136, Covington, died at 5:40 a.m. on Aug. 22, 1999, in his residence. Born June 15, 1921, at the residence in which he died, he was the son of Elmer Lynch and Zyrelda Linck. He married Roberta Harris on May 9, 1942, who survives. He graduated from Perrysville High School in 1939. He farmed most of his life and retired from Aerosol Technics, Inc. after 36 years of service. He was also employed by Checker Chemical Co. He was a past member of the Christian Union Church and as a present member of Benson Chapel Church, helped in the construction of its newest addition. He enjoyed camping, fishing and playing gospel music on his Mountain Dulcemer. Survivors, other than his wife, include: daughter, Sue Ellen Mohler, Rockville; son, Robert Lynch, Clinton; brother, William Lynch, Covington; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren: two step-great-grandchildren; two nephews and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and two step fathers. Funeral services are 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Benson Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Dillon and Rev. Grover Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Lower Mound Cemetery in Covington. – jlr
