LYKINS, Dorothy Shoup

Dorothy Reed Lykins, 83, of Covington, died at her home Friday morning, Jan. 27, 1978.
  Born Oct. 4, 1894 in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Worth and Della Shoup.
  She was married to William Hendricks Lykins on Oct. 27, 1917. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1975.
  Survivors include one sister, Cordelia Reed of Urbana and two cousins, David M. Shoup of Alexandria, Va., and Eugenie Shoup of Desler, Ohio.
  Mrs. Lykins was a resident of Covington most of her life and a former resident of Lafayette.
  She was graduated from Lafayette High School and Transylvania University at Lexington, Ky.
  Mrs. Lykins was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Richard Henry Lee Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Woman’s Club and the Booklover’s Club, all of Covington.
  She was a former president of the Indiana Federation of Clubs and she wrote a column for the Indianapolis Star for several years abut the clubs.
  She was a former member of the Tri Kappa Sorority and the Covington Library Board for many years.
