VEEDERSBURG --- Ernest Ludlow, 68, died at 3 p.m. Saturday at his home. A life-long resident of this community, he was a son of Charles and Anna Sutton Ludlow. He was married Nov. 10, 1922 to Flora Romine. Mr. Ludlow was a carpenter and worked for the State Highway Department for a time. He was a member of the Christian Church at Sterling. Survivors include the widow; three sons, Earl and Wayne, both of Veedersburg, and Bennie of Hillsboro; two daughters, Miss Patricia Ludlow of Chicago and Mrs. Georgia Brown of Barsdale, La.; a son by a former marriage, Dale Ludlow of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Guy of Evanston, Ill. and Glenn of Covington. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. today at the Christian Church at Sterling with Rev. William Aimsworth officiating. The Masonic Lodge will conduct its services. Interment will be in Osborn Prairie Cemetery near here. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services. --typed by Walt W

Ernest Ludlow of Veedersburg, age 68, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 21, 1963, at 3:15 p.m. He had been in ill health for eight months and seriously ill for the past month. ,
He was the son of Charles and Anna Sutton Ludlow who preceded him in death.
He was married on November 10, 1922, to Flora Romine who survives. Other survivors include three sons, Wayne, and Earl of Veedersburg, Bennie of Hillsboro; two daughters, Patricia of Chicago and Georgia of Barksdale A. F. B., Louisiana. Also a son, Dale, by a former marriage, who resides in Phoenix, Arizona; eleven grandchildren, two (2) sisters, Artie and Linnie and one grandson who preceded him in death.
He was an active member of the Sterling Congregational Christian Church, Veedersburg Masonic Lodge 491, Low 12 of Wallace and Rockville. He spent most of his life in and around Veedersburg, where he was a carpenter, and served as a public servant.
In 1961, he had arranged for a final act of service, in donating his eyes for transplanting to someone whose own eyes were blind, or nearing blindness and this was done immediately after his death.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Parham Funeral Home conducted by Rev. William Ainsworth, pastor of the Sterling Church followed by a Masonic service. Interment took place in the Osborn Prairie Cemetery. - jz
