VEEDERSBURG — Earl R. Ludlow,
79, Veedersburg, died at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 in the Waters of
Covington. He was born April 25, 1927 in Indianapolis, the son of Ernest and
Flora (Romine) Ludlow. He married Doyne Kiger in Veedersburg July 6, 1946. She
survives. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He retired from the Veedersburg
Post Office after serving as a rural letter carrier for many years. He then
worked for the Southeast Fountain School Corporation as a bus driver and
retired from there in 1997. He also worked part time assisting with farming. He
was a member of the First Baptist Church of Covington and the Veedersburg American
Legion Post #288. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Survivors, besides the wife, include: his mother of Covington; a son, Michael
(Melanie) Ludlow, Lafayette; a daughter, Linda Ford, Lafayette; two brothers,
Wayne (Wanda) Ludlow, Indianapolis and Ben (Shirley) Ludlow, Hillsboro; two
sisters, Pat Ludlow, Villa Park, Ill. and Georgia Brown, Indianapolis; three
grandchildren, Timothy, Jason and Julie, all of Lafayette; and two
great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brady, both of Lafayette. He was preceded in
death by his father. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday in Dickerson
Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with Pastor Troy Harkey officiating. Burial was in
Osborne Prairie Cemetery. Military gravesite services were conducted by the
Fountain County Veterans. Preferred memorials to the First Baptist Church of
Covington, the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association. – jlr
