Perry Eston Lucas, age 76, a resident of 916 Jefferson St., for 26 years, died at 9:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at his home. He had been ill since last July. Mr. Lucas was born in Parke County, Ind., Aug. 4, 1887, the son of James and Rosetta Rarden Lucas. He was employed as a pipe fitter for the C&EI Railroad for 26 years and had been retired since 1948. He was a member of the Covington Baptist Church. He was married Dec. 22, 1915 to Iona Griffin, who preceded him in death in 1959. Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Wilma Hickman, Mrs. Rovene Auter and Mrs. Dorothy Cunningham, all of Covington; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Lucas of Wallace; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, one sister and two brothers. The body is at the Hegg Funeral Home here where friends may call. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Glenn Ray, pastor of the local Baptist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. --typed by Walt W
