DANVILLE, ILL. — Funeral services for Maurice (Guy) Lucas, age 68, of 4 N. State St., Danville, Ill., brother of Mrs. Fred (Elsie) Walter of Covington Rt. 1, who died at 7:50 a. m. Friday, Sept. 24, in St. Elizabeth Hospital here, were held at 3:30 p. m. Monday at the Barrick & Son Funeral Home here. The Rev. Arthur Buck officiated and burial was in Sunset Memorial Park, north of Danville. Mr. Lucas, who had been hospitalized 16 days, was born Oct. 12, 1896, in Covington, the son of George W. and Emma Timmons Lucas. He had resided in Danville 43 years. He had been employed 43 years by the C&EI Railroad until becoming ill last June. He was a carman and had been wreck master for 32 years. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen and was general chairman and financial secretary of his local. He was married April 27, 1918, in Crawfordsville, Ind., to Vera Stuart, who survives. Also Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. Gwen Jacobson of Indianapolis; three sons, George and Raymond of Hammond and Lee A., of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Walter of Covington Rt. 1 and Mrs. Norval (Grace) Lang of Tuscola; 19 grandchildren, and three great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and one brother. He was a former member of the Wabash Chapel Church, south of Covington. His hobbies were fishing and sports. --typed by Walt W
