ATTICA — Funeral services for George William Lucas, age 79, resident of Attica, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Christian Church in Williamsport. The Rev. Douglas Dickey officiated and burial, with the Crowmer-Siddens Funeral Home in charge, was in the West Lebanon Cemetery. Mr. Lucas died at 2:35 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at the Community Hospital in Williamsport where he had been a patient since Friday, Aug. 28. He had been in ill health five months. He was born April 5, 1885, in Brown County, the son of Jonathan L. and Louisa Robinson Lucas. He was married Sept. 4, 1909, to Ethel Ann Gates, who survives. Mr. Lucas had been a farmer in the Warren County community for many years. He was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church and the Columbus Odd Fellows Lodge. Surviving, in addition to the widow, are: two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Claypool of Williamsport and Mrs. Roy Anderson of Williamsport Rt. 3; five sons, William of Williamsport Rt. 1, Elvn of Williamsport, Arthur of Lafayette, John F. of Phoenix, Ariz., and James of Attica; one brother, Thomas E. of Danville; one sister, Mrs. Zella Moore of Attica; 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. --typed by Walt W
