Harry Lowe, 88, of Hillsboro Route 1, died Wednesday (Feb. 17, 1971) at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. He had been a patient there since Feb. 9 after suffering a stroke at his home. Born June 3, 1882, at his present home, he was the son of Isaiah and Katherine Livengood Lowe. He was married to Gertrude E. Bruner of near Wallace. She died in March 1943. Mr. Lowe had been a carpenter and contractor. He was a member of the Crawfordsville Carpenters Union Local. He attended rural schools in Jackson Township of Fountain County. Survivors include a son, Max of Hillsboro Route 1; a daughter, Mrs. Stanton (Wandaline) Alward of Kingman Route 1; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, John and Charles; and a sister, Mrs. Lola Moffett. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Friday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home. The Rev. John R. Servies will officiate. Burial will be in the Wallace Lutheran Cemetery. - jlr
