LONG, Russell - L-Obituaries

Word has been received here of the death of Russell Long, age 65, of Gary, who died Thursday night, July 25, at his home. He was the brother of Roscoe Long and Mrs. Marie Wilcox, both of the Covington area. Mr. Long was born April 15, 1903, in Vermillion County, Ill., the son of John J. and Sarah A. Rouse Long. He lived his early life in the Vermillion County area near Danville, Ill., until moving to Gary about 25 years ago. He was employed by the Broadway Lumber Co., until ill health forced him to retire three years ago. Surviving are: his wife, Dorothy, and four children by a former marriage, Esther and Claudine of California and Russell Jr. and Janet, at home in Gary; three brothers, Ernest Long and Harry Long of Danville and Roscoe Long of Covington; and two sisters, Miss May Long of Danville and Mrs. Marie Wilcox of Covington. Funeral services and burial was held Monday at Gary with the Rendina Funeral Home in charge.  --Typed by Debby Masterson.
