Source: Lafayette Journal and Courier Tuesday 4 October 1927 p 7

Henry Lodde, a cousin of Herman B. Lodde, was shot and killed by John Reinhardt in the Wabash railroad depot at Attica Jan 16, 1886.  Lodde had been working at Attica and boarded with Reinhardt.  He came to Lafayette to go to work for the Thieme and Wagner brewery.  He went to Attica the day of the tragedy to get some money that was due him.  He did not get it and was returning home.  Reinhardt demanded $9.60 due him and Lodde could not pay. Reinhardt then shot him in the eye, the bullet entering the brain.  Reinhardt was arrested by Marshal Reuben Beamer. – kbz
