ATTICA — Esther Pearl (Null)
Locke, 68, Attica, 1841 East 1300 North, Attica, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000
while traveling on a cruise from Alaska to Vancouver, British Columbia. Death
was very sudden and unexpected. She was born March 31, 1932 in Armstrong, Ill.,
the daughter of Andrew F. and Ruby M. Carpenter Null. She married William Edmon
Locke, Jr. March 25, 1955 in Attica. He survives. She was a life resident of
Fountain County and a resident of the Riverside community for over 40 years.
She was a 1950 graduate of Attica High School. She worked in housekeeping at
Purdue University for 23 years. Prior to that she worked at Radio Material
Corp. and Guthman's in Attica. She was a former member of the Newtown
Presbyteiran Church. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary
of Post #52 of Attica. She enjoyed camping. Survivors, besides the husband,
include: a son, Billy Gene (Eileen) Null, Pittsboro; a sister, Beverly (Harold)
Scott, Attica; a brother, Frank (Rebecca) Null, Greencastle; five
grandchildren, Stacy Rumbaugh, Kimberly Null, Ryan Foxen, Dustin Foxen and
Nicole Orlando; and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Orlando. She was preceded in
death by her parents. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Maus Funeral
Home, Attica, with Pastor Bob Elness officiating. Burial was in Riverside
Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes
Foundation or the American Cancer Society. –
