HILLSBORO

Austin Livengood, 88, died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of Effie Bever here. Mr. Livengood, who lived alone, was taken there earlier this week to be cared for by Mrs. Bever. He was born Aug. 17, 1874, south of Hillsboro, a son of Keeling and Amanda Purnell Livengood. He was married Jan. 10, 1900 to Maude Wright. She died Oct. 8, 1961. Mrs. and Mrs. Livengood resided on a farm south of here until 1934 when they moved into town and operated a strawberry and truck farm. Mr. Livengood, the last survivor of a large family, was a member of the Prairie Chapel Church here. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Crumley Funeral Home here. Rev. Guy E. Tremaine of Waynetown will officiate. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon and evening.

Austin Livengood, 88, a life resident of the Hillsboro community, died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday p.m. at the home of Mrs. Effie Bever, where he was cared for in his last illness.
He was born on a farm south of Hillsboro in Jackson Township on Aug. 17, 1874, the son of Keeling and Amanda Purnell  Livengood.  On Jan. 10, 1900 he was married to Maude Wright of Newtown.  She preceded him in death on Oct. 8, 1961.
He was the last member of a large family and is survived by nieces and nephews.  Mr. and Mrs. Livengood resided on a farm south of Hillsboro until 1934 when they moved to Hillsboro and he operated a Strawberry and truck farm for a number of years.  He was a member of the Prairie Chapel Church near here.
Funeral service was held at the Crumley Home at 2 p.m. Saturday with The Rev. Guy Tremaine, of Waynetown, officiating.   Organ music was by Mrs. Lucy Crumley.  Serving as pall bearers were Donnie Bell, Tom Hightower, Lyron Ford, Philip Helmick, Paul Harshbarger and Howard Colson.  Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro. - jz
