Funeral Services for Knight R. Little, age 67, a former resident of Covington, who died at 5:10 Thursday evening, Feb. 27, in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Danville, Ill., were held Sunday afternoon at the Barrick & Son Funeral Home in Danville. The Rev. Dorothy Reed officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington. Mr. Little, who had resided in Danville for the past 27 years, had been admitted to the hospital eight hours before his death. He was formerly employed in the dietetic service at the VA Hospital, retiring in 1954. He was born May 24, 1896 in Covington, the son of Wilbur and Zelda Knight Little. He was well known by many of the older Covington residents as he had been employed as a deliveryman for the Dennis Grocery here. He was a veteran of World War I, member of the Oaklawn Church of the Nazarene and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Danville. He was a past service officer of the VFW. He was married Aug. 21, 1939 to Margaret Jarrell, who survives. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are two stepdaughters, Mrs. Baptist (Lorraine) Silvestro of Westville, Ill., and Mrs. Alton (Virginia) Miles of Lansing, Mich.; seven step-grandchildren and 17 step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Little was born May 24, 1896 at Covington, the son of Wilbur and Zelda Knight Little and was married Aug, 21, 1939 to Margaret Jarrell who survives, along with two stepdaughters, Mrs. Baptist Silvestro, Westville, Illinois; and Mrs. Alton Miles, Michigan; seven step-grandchildren and 17 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
In Covington he was employed as a store clerk in the old William Dennis Grocery. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. The Rev. Dorothy Reed officiated.
