Mellott — Lawrence Linville, age 77, of Darlington, a former resident of Mellott, died Monday, Feb. 11, 1963 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. Born Aug. 3, 1885, at Wingate, he was the son of Leonard T. and Sarah Bain Linville. He was married in February 1912 to Maude Neal, who preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 1957. He was later married on Dec. 1, 1958, to Mary Anderson of Darlington, who survives. Mr. Linville had been a carpenter and had resided for many years in the Sugar Grove community. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Lowell of Mellott; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Scott of Martinsville and Mrs. Pearl Bell of Odell; a brother, John Z. Linville of Mellott; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. today, Feb. 13, at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The Rev. Donald Cutts officiated. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.  --typed by Walt W
