Archabal (sic) Zachariah Linton, age 74, died Saturday, December 27 at 8:20 PM at his residence on Covington Rural Route 3 of a heart attack. He was a farmer and resident of Covington and the community since 1922. He was a member of the First Church of Christ here. Mr. Linton was born November 17, 1884 in southern Indiana, the son of Thomas and Mary Reed Linton. He was married September 26, 1923 to Anna Jane Martin. Survivors are: his wife, two sons, Everett of Monticello, and Russell of Covington; six grandchildren; two brothers, Alfonso and Robert, both of Brazil. He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the First Church of Christ in Covington with the Rev. C. R. Tallman and the Rev. Roger James officiating. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery with the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were: Rollie Pender, Virgil Townsend, Chester Powell, Paul Summers, Roy Rogers, and Robert Nicklas.
