Milton M. Lindley, son of William and Nan Wilkey Lindley was born March 2, 1870. He is the last of a family of three children and had lived all his life near the farm on which he died.
His parents were of pioneer stock and early in youth Milton knew the hardships and privations that come from such a background, so as the years passed along the early training of hard work and perseverance helped him over many troublesome times. He received a very good education and taught school for several years.
On Ester Sunday in the year 1900, he was married to Maggie V. Boner. This was the happy beginning of a union which grew in beauty until death took the bride on Feb. 15, 1945. To this union three children came to bless the home. The daughter, Iona, preceded both her parents in death, but two boys, Patrick and Perry, both of Kingman, and two grandsons survive.
He was a member of the Cates EUB Church and the friends and relatives know that he was an honest, quiet, unassuming man whose influence will be missed in the home and community.
He passed away early Friday morning, July 30, 1948, at the age of 78 years, four months and 28 days. For several years he has had to endure ill health and we are made to wonder if death is not a blessed release. – thanks to S&E
