Leland L. Lindley of RR 1, Bloomingdale, age 67, died Saturday evening, June 26, at his home at Sylvania. He was born in Fountain County, March 21, 1915, the son of Leroy and Muriel Lewis Lindley. November 18, 1933, he married Martha Craft, who survives. An Army artillery veteran of World War II, he was a member of Disabled American Veterans and Fellenzer Post American Legion.
Also surviving are three daughters, Beverly Sweezy of Orange Texas, Sue Saylor of Hillsdale and Nancy Beukemia of DeMotte; five sons, Charles, Gerald and Chester, all of Orange, Texas, Melvin of Marshall and Howard of Bloomingdale; a brother, John of Kingman; a stepbrother, Robert Bowling of Cates; 27 grandchildren, several step grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Rush Creek Friends Church with Rev. Shirley Brown officiating. Military graveside rites and burial were in Rush Creek Cemetery. Tudor-Miller Memorial Chapel in Rockville was in charge of arrangements. – thanks to S
