LIKENS, Evelyn VanHorn - L-Obituaries

ATTICA — Evelyn J. (VanHorn) Likens, 61, died 4:30 a.m. Aug. 15, 1999, at Country Care Nursing Center in Williampsort. She had been a resident there since Oct. 5, 1998. Born Sept. 13, 1937, in Danville, Ill., she was the daughter of Cecil P. and Ethel Zick VanHorn. She married Phillip Likens in 1977. She graduated from Attica High School in 1955, and attended Lincoln Christian College in Lincoln, Ill. and a Christian College in Chattanooga, Tenn. She was an oven operator at Pillsbury Foods in Lafayette for several years. She also did private home-care nursing. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Attica. She was also a member of the Teamsters Union and served as Union Steward for Pillsbury. Survivors include: daughter, Dawn Miller, Morristown, Tenn.; six grandchildren, and a dear friend, Millie Harmon, Attica. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, James. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fisher Funeral Home in Williamsport with Rev. Harvey Lange officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Attica. – jlr
