Glen Lightle, 88, Route 4, Veedersburg, died at 12:05 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Ill. He was born Sept. 6, 1897, near Veedersburg, the son of William and Millie Lindley Lightle. He was married to Bessie Peevier April 25, 1916. She survives. He lived near Veedersburg most of his life. He was a retired bricklayer. He was a member of the First Church of Christ, Covington. Surviving, besides his wife, are three sons, Derold, Veedersburg; Wayne, Waynetown, and Walter, Cape Coral, Fla.; two daughters, Alma Groce, Cape Coral, Fla., and Jean Groce, Veedersburg; three brothers, Harry, Veedersburg; Mort, Kingman, and Arnett, Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with Steve Wilkel officiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg.
