Mrs. Mary Ann Mayhew Light, aged 76, widow of Melvin Light, a former resident of Fountain County died at 4:10 o’clock Monday afternoon at her home in Sheldon, Ill after a year’s illness. Mrs. Light was born Feb 18, 1868 on a farm near Sheldon, Ill and was married there to Melvin Light on June 5, 1901. The couple moved from Sheldon in 1906 to a farm near Kingman, 20 years later moving to Indianapolis. In 1930 they returned to Sheldon, Mr. Light died May 9, 1944. Mr. Light’s twin brother, Elvin Light, a former Attica resident, had made his home with his brother and wife for several years and continued to stay at the Light home after the brother’s death last spring. Surviving are two sons, Ralph M. of Champaign, Ill and J. Everett of Hartford, Conn. Funeral services will be held at the United Brethern Church in Sheldon with Rev. Milton A. Witt officiating. The time of the funeral has not been set, pending arrival of the son from the East. – kbz
