Covington - Sherman Lewsader, 85, of Covington died at 4:25 p.m. Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William (Martha) Swaney of Eaton Park, Florida who survives. Mr. Lewsader was a lifelong resident of Fountain County and had been a riveter with C&EI Railroad 19 years. He was a farmer south of Veedersburg until his retirement in 1963. He was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. He was born July 25, 1894 in Fountain County, son of William and Ida McCoy Lewsader. He was married April 1, 1916 to the former Ruth Meharry, who died Dec 15, 1973. Other survivors are two grandchildren, Mrs. Fred (Pamela) Foster of Covington and Sherman Selby of Danville, Ill; a great grandson, Jeffrey Price of Covington; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruby Ludlow of Covington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a granddaughter. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home at Covington with Rev. Edgar Allen officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
