LEWIS, Stella - L-Obituaries

Stella Lewis of Waynetown, age 89, died Monday afternoon, January 24, in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. She was born near Hillsboro, November 26, 1893, the daughter of John Newton and Roseanna Wilson Jones. She first married Luther Redford. In 1939, she married Frank Burkhalter, who died in 1947. She was married in 1964 to John Lewis, who died in 1973. Mrs. Lewis was a member of Waynetown Christian Church and had attended Hillsboro High School. She moved from near Mellott to Waynetown in 1975.

  Surviving are two daughters, Esther Marie Palumbo of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Evelyn Brandon of Linden; a stepdaughter, Thelma Ransdall of Lafayette; six grandchildren and one step grandchild.

  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today (Thursday). – thanks to S
