Kingman, July 6 - Elmer LEWIS, 65, a resident of this community most of his life died Monday night at Lakeview Hospital, Danville, Illinois following an operation for appendicitis. Born Feb 19, 1878 at Kingman, Mr. Lewis was the son of James and Cynthia Lewis. He was married to Sadie Bonebrake, who survives with two brothers, Ed and Bant Lewis of Kingman. Funeral services will be held at East Liberty Church but time of service has not been announced.

Elmer Jackson Lewis, son of James J. and Lucinda Lewis was born in Fountain County, Indiana Feb 19, 1878 and departed this life July 5, 1943 at Lake View Hospital, Danville, Ill following an appendectory, age 65 years, 4 months 16 days. He had been in failing health the past four years. He received his education in the rural schools of this community. On Jan 1, 1902 he was united in marriage to Sada Bonebrake. To this union a son was born, who died in infancy. He was the sixth child of a family of nine and leaves to mourn his faithful, loving wife, Sada and two brothers, Edward N and James Bant of Kingman, Ind; also several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was a lover of nature, spending his entire life in this community as a farmer. He was kind and courteous to all his friends and neighbors and will be greatly missed by all. Last rites were held Wednesday at East Liberty Church at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Stevenson officiating. Interment was in Miller cemetery – kbz
