LEWIS, Earl J. - L-Obituaries

Earl J. Lewis of Marshall, age 72, died Wednesday, February 24, in IU Medical Center at Indianapolis. He was born at Kingman, December 26, 1909, the son of Isaac and Hanna Bradfield Lewis. April 27, 1935, he married Pauline Deener, who survives.

  Lewis was a member and chairman of the Board of Deacons of Marshall Baptist Church and was a member of Bloomingdale Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star. He was a retired employee of Raybestos at Crawfordsville.

  Also surviving are three daughters, Patricia Chapman of Tucson, Arizona, Wilma Jackson of Marshall and Carol Ann VanGilder of rural Crawfordsville; a son, David of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

  The body was taken from Rice Funeral Home in Marshall to Marshall Baptist Church for funeral services Saturday afternoon. Rev. Dean Bowman officiated and burial was in Bethany Cemetery near Marshall.
