Mrs. Dorothy Lewis, 27, of West Palm Beach, Florida, was instantly killed in an automobile accident Monday morning at 4:00 on U. S. 41, five miles south of Veedersburg. Mrs. Lewis was driving a 1941 Oldsmobile convertible when she struck a small bridge near the Centennial Church. Her husband, Herbert Lewis, 25, suffered cuts, bruises and shock. Herman Chavens, 23, of Sarasota, Florida, received a broken left leg.
They were enroute to Chicago to attend a convention of the Allied Van Lines. Mr. Lewis has a storage and transfer business in Palm Beach.
The injured were attended by Dr. Byron Smith of Kingman. They were removed to the Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville.
The wreck was investigated by J. M. Frazier and Deputy Coroner Ralph Nelson was called to the scene of the accident.
The body of Mrs. Lewis has been removed to the Fishero Funeral Home in Veedersburg and members of her family in Brooklyn, N. Y., have been notified. – thanks to S
