Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS) — Eugene Hanley Lewin, 68, died at 10 p.m. yesterday (Feb. 9, 1962) at his residence, 523 Evans St., here. He had been ill for more than a year. Born Jan. 21, 1893 at Perrysville, he was the son of John and Mary Kaywood Lewin. He was married to Marie Toby on June 28, 1921. She survives. A switchman for the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad, he retired in 1960 and returned to Indiana after residing in Chicago for several years. He was a World War I veteran and member of the Fulton-Banta American Legion Post 291, the Fountain County Old Guard of VFW Post 2395 and Barricks 1995 of the Veterans of World War I. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Also surviving are: two sons, Robert of Charles City, Iowa, and Edwin of Covington; three daughters, Miss Jean of Bellwood, Ill., Mrs. Norma Hanson of Addison, Ill., and Mrs. Barbara Hall of Bellwood; a brother, Pearl, of Danville, and 18 grandchildren. The body was taken to the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home where services will be at 2 p.m. (EST) Monday, with the Rev. Edgar Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Hicks Cemetery at Perrysville. Military graveside rites are also scheduled.  --typed by Walt W
