LEIGHTY, Joseph Henry - L-Obituaries

Delavan, April 8 – Joseph Henry Leighty, a well known resident of Delavan, past (sic) away on Wednesday afternoon at his residence on West Third street at the age of 68 years. Deceased was born October 31, 1851 in Fountain County, Indiana, the son of John and Lucinda (Riggs)  Leighty. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Lillie Leighty, the latter of New York City. His daughter sailed the day of his death for France before receiving the message of his death.  Funeral services will be held from his late residence Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. Hugh S. Jackson officiating. Interment at Praidie Rest Cemetery. – kbz
