LEFTON, John F. - L-Obituaries

Attica – John F. Lefton, 52 of Attica, died at 5:22 p.m. Saturday Dec 27, 2008 in the emergency room at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. Born in Lafayette July 28, 1945, he was the son of June M. Brooks Lefton of Attica and the late Sherman E. “Bud” Lefton. A life long resident of Attica, he attended Attica HS.  Mr. Lefton worked for Harrison Steel Casting for 25 years. He was presently working in transportation for The Waters of Williamsport. He was a member and deacon of the Attica Christian Church, formerly attended and assisted in the weekly church services at the Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Attica was a member and past master of the Otterbein Masonic Lodge and member of Fern Chapter 194 OES and Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute. He enjoyed playing golf and portraying Santa Claus for several activities. On Aug 3, 1975 he married Sharon J. Buck in Attica. She survives. Surviving with his wife and mother are a daughter, Sarah Jayne Lefton (companion: Michael Bailey) of Hillsboro and sister, Janet Greenwood (husband: Ed) of Attica. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Cassandra Lee Ann Lefton, Elizajayne Lefton and Aaron Nichols Lefton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Wayne Lefton. Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, 5-8 p.m Thursday Jan 1 with a  Masonic memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday Jan 2 with Pastor Bob Elness officiating.
