Covington – Funeral services for Clyde E. Layton, 64, who died Sunday morning at Indianapolis will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Colonial Chapel in Indianapolis.  Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery with Moore Mortuaries in charge.  Mr. Layton was born in Covington, the son of William W. and Emily Layton, was graduated from Purdue University and was in charge of Layton Co., Inc. owners of public utility plants in Bloomington and Lebanon, Ind, retiring in 1943. He moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla in 1943 and was visiting his son in Indianapolis at the time of his death.  He was a member of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, Boone Lodge No 9, F&AM, Murat Shrine and Scottish Rite at Indianapolis. He also was a member of the August Sixth Club, formed in 1900. The members, HK Bilsland, RM Sullivan, CW Nelson, all of Covington and Mr. Layton met each year for a banquet. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ethel Conner Layton; two sons, Don R, Fort Lauderdale, and William E, Indianapolis, a grandson, Thomas Michael Layton, Indianapolis. – thanks so very much to Judi N
