COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Ara Mae Layton, 71, of Covington, died at 5:45 p. m. Tuesday (Dec. 24, 1957) in St. Elizabeth Hospital where she had been a patient 10 days. Mrs. Layton was born May 31, 1880, in Penfield, daughter of Achilles and Mary Elizabeth Berry Ware. She was married Feb. 16, 1898, to Albert B. Layton who preceded her in death June 17, 1951. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marvia Romine of Danville Route 2 and Mrs. Vala Keller of Danville; two sons, H. Max Layton of Covington and Paul L. Layton of Harvey, Ill.; a brother, William B. Ware of West Lebanon; two sisters, Mrs. Belle Tyler of Covington Route 1 and Mrs. Emma White of Switz City, Ind.; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. A son and a brother preceded her in death. A resident of Covington since 1914, Mrs. Layton was a member of the Assembly of God Church. The body is at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington where services will be at 2 p. m. Friday. The Rev. Noah Beadle will officiate, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. --typed by Walt W
