MELLOTT -- Maurice Lee Lawson, 69, of Rt. 3, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday in his home. He was a member of Mellott United Church of Christ and a retired farmer. He had worked at Purdue University for ten years. He was graduated from Mellott High School. Born Feb. 1, 1911, at Mellott, he was a son of Marion E. and Minnie A. Hyatt Lawson. He was married in 1935 to Josephine G. Brier, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Herbert Lee Lawson of Attica; a daughter, Mrs. John (Diane) Cutts of Veedersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Berniece Thompson of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Mildred Fletcher of Attica; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Maus Funeral Home Chapel at Attica with the Rev. Robert Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. --waw
