Marion Emmett Lawson, 65, who retired from a life of active farming this year, died Thursday afternoon at 1:10 o'clock at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville where he had been a patient since last Saturday. He was born April 20, 1883, on the same farm near Mellott where he made his home at the time of his death and was the son of Albert and Mary Murray Lawson. He married Minnie Hyatt of near Newtown July 15, 1903. He was a member of the Improved Order of Red Men in Mellott. Surviving are the widow, a son, Maurice Lee of Otterbein; two daughters, Bernice Lawson of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Cecil Fletcher of Attica; and three grandchildren, one of whom, Billy Lawson has made his home with his grandparents for a number of years. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Grenard & Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. The rites will be in charge of the Red Men's Lodge of Mellott and burial will be in Waynetown Masonic. Friends may call at the home in Mellott after 5 o'clock Friday afternoon and until 11 o'clock Saturday morning. ---kbz
