Frankfort—Virgil G. Laughner, 88, 452 Blinn Ave., Frankfort, died at 12:17 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 1989 in Clinton House Convalescent Center. He had been ill several months.
He was born Aug. 4, 1900 in Clinton County. He was married in August 1920 to Elizabeth Inez Sheets, who preceded him in death Jan. 6, 1972. His second marriage was in 1974 to Lucille Anderson, who preceded him in death in November 1985.
He formerly worked for the Nickel Plate Railroad and was retired from P. R. Mallory in Frankfort.
Surviving are five sons, James, Waynetown; Robert and Charles, both of Frankfort; William, Lafayette, and Harold of Nevada; four daughters, Kathryn Pitman, Radonna Porter and Barbara Hoffman, all of Frankfort, and Carolyn Yarber, Thorntown; two sisters, Marble Ridenour, Michigantown, and Orpha Huffer, Frankfort; 29 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort, with burial in Bunnell Cemetery. – thanks to S
