Danville—Charles O. Lappin, 58, Route 3, Danville, died at 11:41 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 1989 at United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville. He had been in failing health the past several years.
He was born June 20, 1930 in Chicago, the son of Oliver and Ida Golden Lappin. He was married March 31, 1951 to Mary Kinney, who survives.
He had been employed at Danville community College. He enjoyed his family and working on his home and yard.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, David, Covington; Dan, Rossville, Ind., and Dennis, Henning, Ill.; three daughters, Diana Powell and Debra Westfahl, both of Danville, and Donna Lappin, at home; his mother of Danville; four brothers; two sisters and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, a son, a brother and a sister.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant View Congregational Church of Bismarck, Ill., with Raymond Gordon officiating. Burial was in Gundy Cemetery.
