Military funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Osborn Prairie Church for Pfc. Robert David Lang, 20, who was killed in cation with the Marine in Korea November 20, 1952. Pfc. Lang's body was taken Wednesday to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Lang, of near Mellott, after arrival by train at 2 a.m. Wednesday. Surviving besides the parents are three brothers, Pfc Charles E., Arthur and Donald and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Briles of Fowler and Betty at home. Private services were held for the family before the military ceremony at the Osborn Prarie Church which was conducted by the Charles Forrest American Legion Post of Veedersburg.

Veedersburg – Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Lang, Veedersburg, Rt 1, have received word from the Department of Defense that their son, Pfc. Robert David Lang, 20, was killed in Korea action last Saturday. Pfc. Lang had been in Korea with the Marines for two months. He was wounded recently and the little finger on his right hand was shot off. In a letter written Nov 17 and received by his parents Tuesday, Lang wrote that he had returned to front line duty after recovering from the wound. Born at Roachdale, he lived in Veedersburg vicinity since he was a small child. He attended Veedersburg HS and was farming before entering the service. After taking basic training in California, he left the US for Korea Sept 15. Surviving besides the parents are three brothers, Pfc. Charles Lang, serving in the Army in Germany and Arthur and Donald, at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Briles of Fowler, and Betty Lou, at home.

Twelve casualties among Hoosiers fighting in Korea were announced yesterday by the Defense Department. Two Marines, one from Indianapolis were Killed In Action. Ten Indiana men were wounded including on Indianapolis man. The dead were Pfc. Walter Oswald Pritchard, son of Mrs. Beulah B. Pritchard, 1227 Bellefontaine Street and Pvt. Robert David Lang, son of Mr. and Mrs. David C. Lang, RR 2, Veedersburg.
