ATTICA — Robert “Bob” Martin Landon, 71, 708 Park Avenue, Attica, died at 7:58 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2007 in Home Hospital, Lafayette. He was born July 2, 1935 in Rainsville, the son of Clair R. and Mable E. (Strong) Landon. He married Linda L. Wolfe Nov. 13, 1955 in Attica. She survives. He was raised in Tab and attended school in Ambia. He had been a resident of Attica since 1972. He served in the U. S. Navy from December 1952 until his retirement in July 1972. He retired as a gunner's mate technician and had served on the USS Cadmus, USS Seneca, USS Yosemite and the USS Simon Lake. He had also worked for the NAPA store in Attica, the Indiana State Highway Department, and U.A.P. Richter in West Lebanon. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #3318 of Attica, a member and past commander of the American Legion Post #52, and a member of the Moose Lodge #1482 of Attica, and the Fleet Reserve Association. He enjoyed boating and fishing. Survivors, besides the wife, include: a son, Marty (Joann) Landon, Wingate; a daughter, Lori (Roger) Scheurich, Attica; two sisters, Peg (Rick) Francis, Attica and Joyce (Jim) Morrell, Fanning Springs, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Jessica, Sara and Amanda Landon and Tyler, Kelsey and Katie Scheurich. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Pastor Tom Brown officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. tonight (Wednesday).
