  Danville, Ill.—Arthur L. “Art” Laird, 66, Danville, died at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 1989 at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Danville.

  He was born April 10, 1922, in Danville, the son of Carol and Virgil Brown Laird. He married Katherine Harrison, who survives.

  He was formerly employed by the VA Medical Center, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Faith Masonic Lodge 1158 in Wichita Falls, Texas, and American Legion Post 210 in Danville.

  Surviving besides his wife are a stepson, Ricky Lee Harrison, Mexico Beach, Fla.; three step grandsons; a brother, William, Danville; three sisters, Doris Ivey and Alice Hood, both of  Danville, and Leora Hutchison, Covington. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Glenn, and a sister, Helen.

  Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Barrick & Son Guardian Chapel with Chaplain James Williams officiating. Burial was in Danville National Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 210.

  Masonic services were at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. – s -
