Waynetown - Miss Anna Elizabeth Marie Kruger, 79, Waynetown correspondent of the Lafayette Journal and Courier since 1931, died at 8:06 am Monday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. Complications following a fall at her home Friday were blamed. Born at Crawfordsville, she was a former resident of Covington. In Waynetown she was a member of the Methodist Church. A graduate of Crawfordsville Business College, she was employed as a stenographer at Indianapolis 20 years and returned to Waynetown in 1926 to reside with her brother, Walter. She was a member of the Waynetown Flower Lovers Club. For several years she was an antique collector and dealer and was the Waynetown correspondent for a number of newspapers. Miss Anna Kruger, 79, news correspondent for the Waynetown Despatch, died at 8:06 this morning at Culver Hospital in
Crawfordsville where she had been a patient since falling at home last week and breaking her hip.
Miss Kruger had been a correspondent for several newspapers since 1930, including the Despatch, the Crawfordsville, Journal-Review, the Danville Commercial-News, the Lafayette journal-Courier, and since 1954 for the Indianapolis News.
A native of Crawfordsville, she moved to Covington as a small child and then to Waynetown where she was graduated from grade school. She was graduated at the age of 16 from Crawfordsville Business College.
She was a stenographer for a legal office in Indianapolis for 20 years, but after the death of her mother in 1926 she moved
to Waynetown to reside with her brother, Walter, who is the only survivor.
Miss Kruger was also an antique expert and dealer, her prime interest being dishes and glassware. She was a member of the Flower Lovers Club and the Waynetown Methodist Church.
Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown where friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Waynetown.
