Alamo - Virgil Krout, 76 of Rt 3, Crawfordsville died suddenly at 8 a.m. Thursday in his home southwest of Alamo. He was retired from RR Donnelley had worked for the state highway and had been a custodian at Alamo HS. Mr. Krout had lived in the Alamo community since 1920 and was a member of the Alamo Christian Church. Born May 15, 1900 near Wallace, he was a son of Robert & Alice Harrison Krout. He was married to Fairy Dunkelbarger of Veedersburg July 1, 1922. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Lawrence of Barcus Orchard Road and Glen of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. Layton (Elsie) Poole of ROckville and Mrs. Henry (Margaret) Redmon of Crawfordsville; 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A grandson, sister and 4 brothers are deceased. Services will be at 2:30 p.. Sunday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Terry Phillips officiating. Burial in Alamo Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday.
