Mrs. Lula Mae Krout, 80, died Saturday at her home south of Wallace after an extended illness. She was born June 9, 1879 the daughter of Hiram and Sara Brent Grimes. She married Martin L. Krout in Wallace on July 11, 1906. A member of the Lutheran Church she had attended Wallace School, Central Normal at Danville and had taught school several years in Jackson Township. Survivors are a daughter Mrs. Eugene Baker of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Oscar of Hillsboro and Thomas of Kingman; a granddaughter, Elizabeth at home and several nieces and nephews. Services were held Monday with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery. – kbz
