Talbot—Rex W. Kochell Sr., 64, Talbot, died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, June 18, 1989 in Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had been hospitalized 12 days.
He was born June 8, 1925 in Judyville. He was raised in Warren County and moved to Talbot 25 years ago. He was married Nov. 27, 1948 in Danville, Ill., to Helen Balsis, who survives.
He attended Ambia High School and entered the Navy Sept. 3, 1943 and served seven years during World War II. He received the Asiatic Pacific, American Area and Victory medals.
He worked for Rostone in Lafayette for 37 years, retiring in June 1987. He was an avid fisherman.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Linda) Sams, Georgetown, Ill., and Mrs. Dwight (Judy) Daulton, Lafayette; two sons, Rex w. Jr., Lafayette, and Ronnie L., Talbot; his mother, Mrs. Esther Kochell, Route 2, Williamsport; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Wittenauer, Brookston, and Mrs. Alice Armes, Route 2, Williamsport; two brothers, Robert, Danville, Ill., and Kenneth, Lafayette, and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Yuill-Shoemaker Funeral Home, Boswell. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Yuill-Shoemaker Chapel with the Rev. John N. Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove cemetery, Warren County – thanks to S
