Attica, Ind. - William Estel Kite, 76, of Williamsport, died at 1:50 p.m. yesterday (June 11, 1969) at the Danville Veterans Administration Hospital where he had been a patient since April. He had been in ill health since 1962. rn June 23, 1892, in Maryville, Tenn., he was a son of David and Mary Carver James Kite. He had lived for several years at Dixon, Ill., and came to Pence, Ind., in 1920 where he was employed by J.D. Martin. He moved to Williamsport in 1927 where he owned and operated a garage for several years. He was superintendent of the water and power company in Williamsport and also had been employed at RMC in Attica. He was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Tennessee and the Modern Woodman Lodge. Surviving are his widow; a son , Joseph David Kite of Hobart, Ind., two sisters, Mrs. Dan (Margaret) Shughart and Mrs. Joe (Sadie) Bryant both of Sterling, Ill., a half-brother Leonard James of Knoxville, Tenn., and two granddaughters. Friends will be received at the DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Norman Able officiating. Burial will be in the West Lebanon cemetery.
