James KIRTS, 85, for many years a resident and well-known farmer of the Rainsville community died at 2:25 Friday morning at the home of his son, William C. Kirts, east of Attica.
Mr. Kirts was born Aug 18, 1853, in Douglas County, Ill. Early in life he was united in marriage to Rosetta Bevers, who survives.
Besides the widow, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mandie Myers of Demotte, Ind; and four sons: William C with whom he made his home; Robert of California; Frank of near Crawfordsville and George north of WIlliamsport.
The body was taken to the Coffing & Robinson Funeral Home where it was prepared for burial and returned to the home of the son at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Funeral rites were held at 2 Sunday afternoon from the Rainsville Church with Elder A.W. Jackman officiating.
Interment was made in Rainsville Cemetery with Coffing & Robinson in charge.. - typed by kbz

Attica, Jan 6 – James Kirts, 85, well known farmer of the Rainsville community died at 2:25 a.m. today at the home of a son, William Kirts, east of Attica. He was a native of Douglas County, Illinois. Surviving are the widow, formerly Rosetta Bevers; four children, Robert of California, Frank of Crawfordsville, George of near Williamsport and William with a sister, Mrs. Mandie Myers, DeMotte. The body was brought to the Coffing & Robinson Funeral home and was returned this afternoon to the home of the son, William. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Rainsville church. Elder AW Jackman will officiate and burial in Rainsville cemetery.
