KIRKPATRICK, Elizabeth - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Newtown June 22 – Mrs. Elizabeth Kirkpatrick, 77, lifelong resident of Newtown died at her home near here at 2:30 o’clock this afternoon.  Mrs. Kirkpatrick was born here and in 1888 married John Dagger. The couple built the Dagger homestead just south of town.  Mr. Dagger died in 1916.  In 1924, Mrs. Kirkpatrick married John W. Kirkpatrick who died in 1937.  Mrs. Kirkpatrick’s father, Scott Clark was a pioneer Disciple minister and wagon-maker here at Newtown.  She was a member of the local Baptist Church, the Order of Eastern Star, the Pythian Sisters and the Past worthy Matrons’ club.  Surviving are a brother, Samuel B. Clark of Wingate; a foster-daughter, Mrs. Herschel Casey of Stockland, Ill and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert McNagmy of Columbia City.   --transcribed by kbz
