Attica – Wreatha Jane Royal Kerr, 90 of Route 1, Attica, a retired drama and music instructor died at 11:35 p.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette following an illness of ten years.  Mrs. Kerr was born in Richland Township, Fountain county, Feb 6, 1901.  She had resided in fountain County since 1947, having formerly lived in Royal Center, Cape Girardeau, Mo; and Evansville.  She married Ralph Cooper Kerr, July 29, 1925 in Lafayette and he died Aug 25, 1963.  Mrs. Kerr graduated from Newtown HS in 1919.  She received a degree in drama from Northwestern University and taught drama prior to her marriage.  She later taught music and drama in Lafayette.  She was a member of former Newtown Presbyterian Church now the Newtown Community Church, the Covington DAR Chapter, Newtown Order of Eastern Star, a charter member of the Quiggle-Palin American Legion Post Auxiliary, Newtown Music Club and was a former chairman of the Fountain County Republican Women.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Al G (Jane) Hartman of Route 1, Attica and Mrs. Jay (Karen) Whitworth of Jacksonville, Fla and a sister, Lean Middletown of Homewood, Ill.   --transcribed by kbz
