Attica – Mrs. Tena O. (Carlson) Kirkman, 81 of 801 S. Perry
St, Attica died at 12:30 a.m. Monday at Alward Nursing Home where she had been
a patient two years. She had been in failing health three years and seriously
ill two weeks. Mrs. Kirkman was a native and lie resident of Attica. In 1909
she was married to William G. Kirkman. Prior to his death in 1941, he was
general superintendent of Harrison Steel Casting Co. She was a member of the
First Lutheran Church, a 25-year member of OES, Chaper 125 and Florbelle Court
of Amaranth. Also a chartered member of Wabash Temple, Pythia Sisters and
member of Attica War Mothers Organization. Surviving are three sons, Rex and
Leslie, both of Attica, and Richard of Torrance, Calif; one daughter, Mrs.
Judith Wilhite of Bedford and a sister, Mrs. Othelia Munson who lived in the
Kirkman home. – kbz
ATTICA, Ind. (CNS) - Mrs. Tena O. Kirkman, 81, of 801 S. Perry, died at 12:30 a.m. today (Sept. 15, 1969) at the Alward Nursing Home in Attica. She had been a patient there for two years and had been seriously ill for two weeks. Born in Attica, Jan. 3, 1888, she was the daughter of Adolph and Matilda Jones Carlson. She was married Oct. 6, 1909, in Attica to William G. Kirkman, who died in 1941. He had been general superintendent of Harrison Steel Casting Co. Survivors include three sons, Rex and Leslie, both of Attica, Richard of Torrance, Calif.; a daughter Mrs. Judith Wilhite of Bedford, and a sister, Mrs., Othelia Munson of Attica. She also was preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters and four sons. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the DeSutter Funeral Home. Friends will be received after 5 p.m. Tuesday. The family requested that memorials be in the form of donations to the cancer fund. The Rev. Karl Korbel will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. - jlr
