Veedersburg - Percy Kinneer, 53, a lifetime resident of this community, died at 10 a.m. Wednesday, St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Ill of an embolism following surgery Monday. Mr. Kinneer had injured his right knee Dec 20 in a fall. He hauled the mails between the depot and postoffice here. Born April 22, 1904, he was the son of Walcie and Almeda Smith Kinneer. He was never married. Mr. Kinneer was a member of the Veedersburg EUB Church. Surviving are a brother, Perry of Veedersburg and three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Webster and Mrs. Vivian Magruder of Indianapolis and Mrs. Reba Moomaw of Muncie. Funeral rites will be held at the EUB Church 2 p.m. Friday. The body will lie in state there for an hour prior to the services. Rev. Samuel Pritchard will be the minister and burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fishero Funeral Home.

Percy Kinneer, a life resident of the Veedersburg community died suddenly New Year’s morning at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville where he had been a patient since the previous Friday. Mr. Kinneer died of a blood clot following an operation on his knee Monday morning.  His condition had not been considered as serious. He was night mail messenger for the post office and also helped the night police. He once operated a small dairy and sold milk in the Veedersburg northside neighborhood. He was born April 22, 1904 a son of Walsey and Almeda Smith Kinneer.  Surviving are a brother, Perry of Veedersburg; three sisters, Mrs. Vivian Magruder and Mrs. Mabel Webster of Indianapolis and Mrs. Rebba Berniece Moomaw of Muncie.  He was a member of the Veedersburg EUB Church. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the EUB Church with Rev. SJ Pritchard officiating. The body will lie in state an hour before the services.  Burial will be in the Rockfield Cemetery with the Fishero Funeral Home in charge. – kbz
