Carl Kinneer 51 World War 1 veteran residing at Cates on Kingman Route 2 died at 9 o'clock Saturday night at the St. Vincents' hospital in Cleveland Ohio where he had undergone an operation for a hernia. A heart occlusion caused his death. He was section foreman for the Nickel plate railroad for the Veedersburg section and wwas listed as a railroad patient at the hospital because the Nickel Plate system has it's headquarters in Cleveland. Because of the severity of the blizzard and high drifts in Cleveland Mrs. Kinneer and friend Mrs. John Bowermann were unable to leave the Cleveland Union terminal for the hospital after their arrival Sunday nor was it possible that day to remove the body for transportation to Cates. Mr. Kinneer was born on June 30 1899 at Veedersburg the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Keeling Kinneer. He was married on June 10 1922 to Vera Marie Allen who survives with one son Bill, one sister Mrs. Carrie Dugan of Kingman Route 2 and two brothers Clyde and Clarence also of Kingman route 2. He was a cousin of Perry and Percy Kinneer and Mrs. Harry Hicks all of Veedersburg. He was a member of Yeddo Masonic Lodge, Modern Woodmen and the Evangellical United Brethern Church of Cates. Funeral services were held at the Cates Evangelical United Brethern Church at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Rev. H.A. Lashbrook conducted the service with burial at Mt. Hope.
