Mrs. Edward Moore received word yesterday of the death of her brother,
David King, Thursday Dec 14, 1899 at his home in Fountain County, Indiana. His
age was 62 years. The deceased had been in good health and that morning was in
a field shucking corn when his companion heard him exclaim, “Oh, I’m down.”
Going to his assistance his friend found him trembling all over and asked him
if he was sick,” Oh, no, I have these spells,” and in a few moments began
shucking corn again and continued to work until they reached the end of the
row. When they turned to go back his companion saw him fall and ran to his
assistance once more and found Mr. King gasping for breath and he died almost
immediately. Paralysis is supposed to be the cause of death. - transcribed by kbz
