Mrs. Maxine Kimbrell, 25, wife of Howard Kimbrell, was killed Thursday night, June 29, in an automobile accident near Hammond, and her husband and two sons were injured in the fatal crash. Mr. and Mrs. Kimbrell had come for their sons, Ronald and John, who had been visiting with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Knowles, living on Highway 41 between Veedersburg and Attica. Both Mr. and Mrs. Knowles were well known in the Attica community and attended high school there. All occupants of the auto were removed to a hospital near Hammond where Mrs. Kimbrell died shortly after the accident. Both boys suffered broken limbs and skull fractures, but their condition is not believed serious. The father escaped with severe cuts and bruises and was released from the hospital on Sunday. The body was returned to the home of her parents where hundreds of friends called to pay respect. She is survived by the husband and sons, her parents and one brother, Harry, Jr. Funeral services were held Monday at the home of her parents.
