George W. KIGER, son of John & Eliza Kiger was born in Fulton Twp, Fountain Co IN Jan 7, 1838, died Oct 24, 1913 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. ELiza Stoup, aged 75 yeares 9 months 18 days. He was married to Mary J. KING Jan 13,1859. To this unon were born 7 children one daughter and one son, Kenny J and Mitchell A preceding him in death. Amanda Carter and Eliza Stoup of near Kingman, John H of Catling and Edward and Ira of Danville, Il survive. R. Kiger was the eldest of a family of 13, 5 brothers and two sisters: James; Elizabeth; Elias; Rebecca Ann; Caroline and Alexander ahaving preceded him in death. Sarah Self of Altamont KS and Wm. H, of near Silverwood and the following brothers and sisters are still living, Charles of Oklahoma, Oscar of Califronia, Eta of Washington and Edgar of Tangier, theyoungest brother who seemed more like a son than a brother as his mother died in his infancy and Mr. and Mrs. Kiger took and kept him as their own child for a number of years. He is survived by an aged and dutiful wife, 5 children, six sisters and brother, besides a host of other relatives. The funeral services were conducted Sunday at 11 in the UB Church by Rev. Jackson Marshall Scoence and the regular pastor of the church after which the remains were laid to rest in Cooper Cemetery.
